Who We Are
The HERT Foundation — Highway Emergency Responders Training — is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing education, training, and professional development for the men and women who respond to roadway emergencies. We proudly support towing and recovery professionals, fire rescue personnel, EMS providers, law enforcement officers, and other highway incident response partners across six states. We believe that well-trained highway emergency responders are the foundation of safer roads and stronger communities. Through education, certification support, collaborative training, and workforce development, we equip responders with the knowledge and skills they need to perform their duties safely, effectively, and confidently. When every member of the roadway response team is better prepared, everyone who travels our highways benefits.
What We Do
The HERT Foundation funds and facilitates professional training programs designed for the full spectrum of highway emergency responders working in high-risk roadway environments. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we connect towing and recovery professionals, fire rescue personnel, EMS providers, law enforcement officers, and other incident response partners with the education, resources, certifications, and continuing training they need to respond safely and effectively when it matters most. We advocate for industry standards that prioritize responder safety, public safety, interagency collaboration, and proven best practices across every roadway discipline. Our work ensures that emergency responders throughout Montana, Oregon, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Colorado have access to the training, support, and professional development they deserve.
